My friend has just come back from a Algarve tennis holiday, he said it was fantastic and that we should write a post about it on the online travel blog.

My friend stayed at the exclusive Vale do Lobo resort which has the Vale do Lobo Tennis academy as part of its services. The academy has 14 hard courts and is set in a pine clad amphitheatre overlooked by the luxurious clubhouse. The academy is ideal for a tennis holiday whether you are a beginner, intermediate or even and experienced player.

The clubhouse has a shop, café, bar with satellite TV, gym, sauna, steam room, massage room and arcade. The swimming pool, surrounded by terraces and sun loungers, is a perfect venue for enjoying an after match drink.

The Tennis Academy, formerly managed by Roger Taylor and David Lloyd Leisure, has hosted a number of major tournaments and still attracts the likes of Tim Henman, Annabel Croft and Jeremy Bates as a holiday venue plus a range of top stars to it’s annual ATP Seniors Grand Champions Event including Bjorn Borg, Jannick Noah and John McEnroe, the 2002 winner.
