If you want to travel through Europe and camp instead of staying in hotels, there are thousands of places you can stay. Did you know that there are more than 4000 designated, official camping places worldwide? And that doesn’t even count all the places that people camp in a more casual manner. If you want any amenities, though, you should stick with the recognized camping places, which shouldn’t be a problem.

There are so many options that you can get almost anything you’re looking for, and that includes everything from hotel-style amenities to ‘roughing it’ in tents in the wilderness.

If you’re serious about camping in Europe, one of the things you can do is join a join a club or group. There are a lot of these around, and many of them cater not only to camping enthusiasts with years of experience but also to people who are just getting started and maybe taking their first trip to a new place. By joining a club you can learn from other campers, book campsites online, and handle all sorts of issues before you ever leave for your holiday. Groups aren’t mandatory, and if you want to go it alone that’s certainly fine as well.

When camping Europe you should just be prepared, go with the flow, be respectful of nature and other people, and do what feels right to you.
