If you are heading to the Torbay/Brixham area this summer to stay in one of the many great Devon caravan parks then you will need a heads up on some of the great attractions that are around the area. In this blog post we are going to talk about two of the biggest attractions, Paignton Zoo and Quay West.

Paignton Zoo

Considered one of the best Zoos in Britain, Paignton zoo covers around 80 acres of land and is home to some amazing and rare animals. Visitors will be able to see Elephants, Lions, Tigers, Rhinos and Crocodiles that were added in 2008.

With plenty of informative and interactive features that will help you learn about the animals and their natural habitat you are sure to leave the zoo with a better understanding of our planets wildlife.

At certain times in the day you can catch displays and shows where the experts will talk to you about the animals and answer questions you may have.

When feeling peckish on your visit, you will find plenty of places to eat and fuel up for the rest of the day. As well as a main indoor restaurant there are plenty of outdoor snacks huts that you will be able to get some snacks.

As well as the animals on display there is play areas for children and a miniature train that will take you on a scenic trip around the grounds.

Having recently visited Paignton Zoo I can safely say it is a great day out for young and old alike.

Quay West

Quay West Water Park is another great attraction to visit when staying in a Bixham/Torbay Devon Holiday Park. This brilliant family attraction is set in the lovely area of Goodrington Beach that is a joy to explore by itself.

The waterpark is a great place to spend a hot day this summer at. As well as heated pools, there are rides and slides that include the Wild Kamikaze, Devils drop and the Screamer. Raging Rapids and Surf Lagoon are tube rides that are great fun.

Once you have worked up an appetite, you can get some food from one the many food outlets that include Boarders, Lumsdens fish and chip shop, The BBQ and the ice cream parlour for a cooling treat later in the day.

The park will be more suited for young families, but Quay West is a great place to spend a day this summer.
