Bedfordshire is a great day out for all of the family no matter what time of year you decide to treat everyone. But with so much on offer it is advisable that you pre plan your trip so you don’t miss out on any of the things on offer in this popular part of the country.

Sunday 13th September sees the much welcome arrival of the Summers End Fete and Companion Dog Show. Although you might be sad to see what little summer we had fade away off until next year, the past season is always celebrated no matter what it has brought. The event being held promises many events that will keep you and the family (including the kids) entertained for the day. There are things to learn from the British Driving Society and a chance to see kids favorites Big Bob and Little Ted. There is also a dogs in training attraction where you can see some of the dogs and their skills at agility. Also for the kids there is a bouncy castle and lots of homemade refreshments with a raffle and a tombloa thrown in you want know where to start. Entrance is £2 for adults and £1 for children so head on over there for a credit crunching day out.

meerkat RINGOThere is also the zoo for anyone crazy about animals. The Whipsnade zoo offers a whole host of animals and just keeps getting bigger. The zoo has just welcomed a baby elephant standing at under 3ft tall and weighing in at 126kg (almost 20st). Ticket prices start from £16.30 for adults and children under can go for free. The zoo also offers the chance to adopt an animal like Ringo the popular Meerkat or alternatively adopt his brothers Paul, John and George. The adoption money goes back into the zoo to look after the animals.
