The bustling fishing town of Oban is the capital of the Western Highlands and the gateway to the Western Isles. The majestic Lorn Mountains provide the perfect backdrop for Oban, which is the perfect starting point for your adventures into the highlands. You can also catch a ferry to the Isle of Mull, one of Scotland’s largest islands.

Mull is a beautiful island, no wonder Paul McCartney always desired to be there as he claimed in one of his most famous songs all about the Isle of Mull. There are a number of attractions to see on the island from its picture postcard capital, Tobermory, to ancient castles, beautiful countryside and a wealth of wildlife. Perhaps surprisingly Mull is also home to some wonderful beaches, while you may never get much of a tan on them they are undeniably beautiful are a great place to while away a few hours. There is just so much to Mull and its surrounding islands that as soon as you leave you will be aching to come back for more.
