For an alternative way to see the beautiful Spa city of Bath, why not take to two wheels and see Bath from a different perspective.

The Bath & North East Somerset Council has announced a new cycle route as part of its “Bath Cycling Campaign” to get more people to use the local cycle paths which includes dedicated cycle lanes, canal tow paths and co-exist pedestrian / cycle routes, as a means of travelling around Bath.

The Council has made large investments and improvements in recent times to many of the existing cycle paths around the city, plus making it safer and easier for cyclists to navigate on two wheels. This is in part due to the initiatives set out by the government’s “Sustainable Transport Fund which will be used during the latest project during 2012.

This means if you are a visitor or a local resident of Bath, there has never been a safer or better time to get around the city or explore the surrounding area on a bicycle.

For those that want to explore a bit further outside of Bath and don’t mind a little lengthier journey, then why not take a ride along the beautiful Bristol & Bath Railway Path or the Bath to Bradford-on-Avon on the Kennet and Avon towpath. This follows alongside the canal and allows you to stop off at any of the pubs along the way for refreshments.

So if you are planning to take one of the many Spa Breaks available or you are looking for Bath Hotels as convenient city centre accommodation, you will have a wide selection to choose from. Which means it will be easy to hire a bicycle to explore the city and its many attractions.
