The festive season in the historical Spa city of Bath is well and truly here now, if you’re planning a holiday or one of the many spa breaks, there are plenty of things to do in the city at this time of year.

Just one of the highlights is the special tour within one of the most famous properties in Bath at “No.1 Royal Crescent” and their Georgian Christmas. Enjoy the lovely architecture and atmosphere within this beautiful Georgian period townhouse, which has been traditionally decorated for the Christmas season. No.1 Royal Crescent was home at one time to Prince Frederick, Duke of York is one of 30 houses comprising of the famous Georgian period crescent. For this special Christmas event each room will be dressed with garlands of hollyand wreaths, which will be accompanied by a variety of beautiful floral displays. The house is open daily between 10.30p.m and 4p.m.

Another attraction in the Georgian period theme is at the Jane Austen Centre, with the Jane Austen’s Regency Christmas exhibition. Austen was one bath’s most famous historical residents and used some of the city for inspiration in some of her books. The Jane Austen’s Regency Christmas exhibition has been created to depict how the festive season was celebrated in the time of Jane Austen.

Lastly is the Bruce Munro’s Field of Light Exhibition at the Holburne Museum of Art in Bath. The exhibition features an external display of 1000’s of tiny fibre optic lights, which have been spread out over the Museum’s new rear extension. The lights glimmer and twinkle like pools of light and offer visitors a truly magical experience.
