Dublin By Night - Dublin hotels

Figures revealed at the beginning of February suggest tourism in and around the Irish capital is in good shape.

Visitors from around the world flocked to see many of the fantastic cultural institutions littered around Dublin in record numbers, according to a list provided by Minister for Arts, Heritage and Culture Jimmy Deenihan, defying the recession taking hold of Europe.

Overall visitor numbers rose from 3.25 million in 2009 to reach an impressive 3.61 million last year, whilst sites operated by the office of Public Works recorded 3.44 million compared to 3.26 million two years earlier.

The sheer quantity of cultural institutions and heritage sites in Dublinhelps it compete with cities all over Europein terms of places to visit. Should you be planning a stay in one of the fine hotels in Dublin this year, be sure to take advantage of the fantastic museums, galleries and parks dotted around the city.
