Edinburgh venues show increased tourism levelsThe latest figures for Scotland have indicated an increase of over four million tourists to the country from last year, with a number of Edinburgh attractions among those boasting impressive figures.

The most popular attraction was the National Museum of Scotland, with the Edinburgh venue welcoming almost 1.5 million people last year; marking a phenomenal rise of 141% compared to last years stats. It comes after a huge development project on the site, proving that the substantial £47 million pound project is already beginning to pay dividends.

Another of the sites which was noted in the figures was the iconic Edinburgh Castle. With a staggering 1.3 million people passing through its doors over the last 12 months; it has once again confirmed its reputation as one of the most popular paid attractions in the city.
