Irish golf courses plays host to special guestsSome of the most important golf tour operators from around Europe have travelled to Dublin to sample the city’s stunning greens and fairways, as guests of the Dublin East Coast Golf Alliance.

Supported by Tourism Ireland, the gathering gives operators the chance to try out each of the five clubs that are part of the alliance, which comprises the K Club, Carton House, Powerscourt Golf Club, The Island and Druids Glen.

Tapping into the largest sports-related travel market is a major part of Tourism Ireland’s strategy, and it is hoped the meeting will help develop the number of golf tourist over the coming years.

Tourism Ireland’s head of business and sports tourism David Boyce said: ‘Dublin and the East Coast around counties Kildare and Wicklow boast some fantastic golf courses and the visit of these influential golf tour operators is an excellent opportunity for us to highlight them in Britain and Mainland Europe.’

Irish golf is experiencing a prolonged moment in the sun at the moment, and it is little wonder with the quality of their courses. Be sure to check one of them out, whilst enjoying a relaxing break in one of the fine Dublin hotels.
