Edinburgh FestivalEdinburgh City Council have announced plans to offer free city centre parking at times during the Edinburgh Festival, news that is sure to please the thousands of fans who plan to visit the internationally renowned event.

Set to become free to park your vehicle after 5pm in a number of locations in the city centre, it is part of the ‘Alive After 5’ campaign, jointly run by Edinburgh City Council, Marketing Edinburgh and Essential Edinburgh. It will also see shops within the vicinity extend their opening hours to 7pm, further enhancing the city experience for any of those staying in any of the hotels in Edinburgh during the festival timeline

Running between the 6 August and 1 September, Edinburgh Festival remains among the most high profile and popular events in the city’s calendar. If you are thinking about visiting the city this summer, be sure to arrive in time for the festival to witness Edinburgh at its best.
