Experience the Jane Austen Festival and Bath’s Regency Period

If you are heading to Somerset’s premiere city for a well earned holiday or a city break during September, make sure you look out for events taking place in Bath for the annual Jane Austen Festival. The festival celebrates the works, life and times of one of Bath’s most famous former residents, the English novelist Jane Austen.

This year, the festival offers visitors and participants more than 60 individual events, which is sure to please any avid Jane Austen fans who are looking to immerse themselves into the world of Ms. Austen, her books and their characters.

Anyone wanting to experience this unique festival will have a the opportunity to enjoy evening concerts, dancing, theatre, talks and discussions, workshops and guided walks by local Jane Austen experts. People participating in the festival who plan to get right into the part will be able to dress up in their chosen Regency period costume and will be ready to enjoy the annual ‘Regency Costumed Masked Ball’ in Bath’s prestigious Pump Room, plus the daytime Grand Regency Costumed Promenade which sees participants walking a special route around the historic streets of Bath.
