Virgin AtlanticIn some fantastic news for Edinburgh, airline giant Virgin Atlantic have signalled their intention to launch two new domestic services from London to the Scottish capital. Hoped to be up and running from next summer, it further enhances the transport links available to those wanting to visit the city in the future.

The development is the second flight launch to Edinburgh in a matter of weeks, with the company previously announcing flight paths between Manchester and the Scottish capital to make their first venture into the sector. Having previously concentrated on worldwide flights, the airline’s chief executive Steve Ridgeway maintains the belief that creating a short haul network between the British Isles would help broaden choice for travellers.

With Edinburgh playing host to such an array of beautiful sights and sounds, it’s no wonder it ranks highly amongst the most visited cities in the UK. If you are looking for a city break with a difference in the coming months, why not book into one of the many hotels in Edinburgh and discover the Scottish capital for yourself?
