Edinburgh Castle shortlisted for top tourism awardOne of Scotland’s most celebrated sites will be fighting to retain its top UK Heritage Attraction title after being shortlisted for the accolade in this year’s British Travel Awards.

Edinburgh Castle, which boasted record visitor numbers in June, is facing off against the Minack Open-air theatre in Cornwall and St Paul’s Cathedral. Voting closes at the end of September but the winner won’t be announced until November.

The award would cap yet another fantastic year for the popular attraction, which hosted the arrival of the Olympic Torch and the lighting of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacon earlier in the summer amongst a series of other landmark events.

Just one of many sensational cultural and historical landmarks dotted around the Scottish capital, Edinburgh Castle presents a great day out for the whole family.

Come and check it out whilst enjoying a relaxing break in one of the excellent Edinburgh hotels over the coming months.
