Edinburgh restaurant named best in ScotlandRenowned as a host to an array of spectacular culinary establishments, the Scottish capital is a mini-paradise for foodies across Europe.

It will come as no surprise then, to hear that an Edinburgh restaurant has been named the best in Scotland, whilst also coming eighth in the top 100 restaurants in the UK at the esteemed National Restaurant Awards 2012 held at a ceremony in London on Monday night.

The Kitchin, which opened in 2007 and got its first Michelin star after six months, is run by MasterChef mentor Tom Kitchin, who said the accolade was a ‘tremendous compliment’ to him and his staff.

It represents yet another reason to book a break in one of the excellent Edinburgh hotels over the coming months, with the restaurant helping to form part of a cultural empire renowned throughout the world.
