Christmas_tree_south_dockands_DublinIf you were lucky enough to be enjoying a break in one of the excellent hotels in Dublin over the weekend, then you would have enjoyed the Christmas lights switch on in the city, an event that was filled with festive spirit.

Revellers defied rainy and blustery conditions to turn out in force for the event, which saw a traditional tree replace the €300,000 glass replica that has been in place since 2008.

Although the downpour did nothing to dampen spirits, it did put paid to a world record attempt for the highest number of Christmas jumpers in one place at the same time, although crowds were treated to some entertainment by singer Brian Kennedy.

The festive season is well and truly underway in the Irish capital, and it represents a great place to visit whilst enjoying a memorable Christmas break with your young family over the exciting festive period.
