Edinburgh CastleThe revolutionary tram project in Edinburgh is said to be making excellent progress, according to the city’s transport convener.

One of the most exciting and much anticipated developments for the Scottish capital, they will be able to link travellers to Edinburgh city centre in less than half an hour when the project is completed in 2014. While the project has experienced a variety of problems during its creation, Councillor Lesley Hinds has spoken of positivity after visiting the airport tram station alongside Scottish transport minister Keith Brown.

With the creation of the Edinburgh airport tram stop, the Edinburgh gateway rail-tram interchange and the refurbishment of the Haymarket and Edinburgh Park Station, the tram network is expected dramatically improve transport links across the Scottish capital. It will provide a great method for travellers to easily explore the many landmarks of the city, one which is sure to be greatly welcomed by those staying in any of the hotels in Edinburgh in the future.
