Bono among those entertaining on streets of DublinWhen scurrying the streets of towns and cities to get the perfect gifts in time for Christmas, there is nothing better than some live music to help get you firmly into the festive spirit. Those lucky enough to be doing their Christmas shopping in Dublin on Christmas Eve were treated to an incredible musical performance.

The performance came from Bono, Sinead O’Connor, Glen Hansard, organised as part of the annual celebrity sing-along in the city and one which proves a popular draw for many of those staying in any of the Dublin hotels during the period.

The trio performed an array of hits for the revellers, including an acoustic version of U2’s ‘Desire’ as well as a rendition of O’Connor’s timeless classic ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, a hit originally penned by Prince. Versions of ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ helped get the crowds into the spirit of the festive period.

They were also joined by singer/songwriter Damien Rice and Liam Ó Maonlaí, the frontman of Hothouse Flowers.
