Dublin Zoo is really getting into the Christmas spirit now after two snowy owls arrived at the Fringes of the Arctic enclosure.
The beautiful birds, who were born in Linton Zoo in the UK, have already settled in nicely at the attraction, which plans to invite suggestions for their new names through their Facebook page.
The owls are less than a year old, but hopes of welcoming some baby owls in the spring are perhaps premature, as it is too early for keepers to determine the sex of the creature.
Members of the public making their way to the zoo are most likely to spot the graceful birds around the penguin enclosure, and will either be roosting high in the trees or resting between the rocks.
Just one of many exciting species of animal to be found in the zoo, it is a must-visit for any of those planning a winter break in one of the excellent Dublin hotels over the coming months.
