The Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh has announced an exciting exhibition programme for 2013.
The prestigious institution – which had its Portrait Gallery re-developed recently – will see one of the nation’s most internationally acclaimed singer-songwriters, Annie Lennox, present her exhibition The House of Annie Lennox early next year, focusing on the artist’s works over three decades as a performer, political activist, singer-songwriter and recording artist.
Other major displays headed for the cultural attraction include Man Ray Portraits, an exhibition focusing on mid-twentieth century photography by highly influential artists over the years.
For a lighter touch, Scotland’s own contribution to the world of comedy will be celebrated in the Tickling Jock: Comedy Greats from Sir Harry Lauder to Billy Connolly exhibition.
These are just a handful of exciting displays taking place at the museum over 2013 that look set to wow culture vultures heading for a break in one of the excellent hotels in Edinburgh.
