Dublin CastleTourism Ireland have targeted America and mainland Europe as the key to boost visitor numbers, with the governing body hoping to increase visitor numbers by 5% during 2013.

Extra revenue and more tourists go hand in hand; with a whopping £3.7 billion generated for the nation’s economy should the increase become apparent.

One aspect which is hoped could prove a driving force for the increase are the range of fantastic  hotels in Dublin, which are hoped to prove hugely popular during some of the activities offered during The Gathering. An event we have previously reported on, The Gathering brings a whopping 1,700 events to Ireland, with a large slice of those being held in the capital.

While countries such as America, Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland are all being targeted, they will still want to keep their grip on the overwhelming visitor levels from the UK which is in fact their biggest market.
