Boasting a great diversity of landmarks and a fantastic relationship with the arts, Paris has long been one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. Judging by visitor figures for 2012, it seems that its credibility and appeal certainly hasn’t been lost.
It was in fact a record breaking year for the great variety of hotels in Paris, with 15.68 million visitors choosing to stay the night in the French capital – just over half of the 29 million people who visited during the year. Britain had the second highest number of tourists visiting the city behind the USA, whose visitor levels rose by a staggering 12% when compared to the same period last year. There were also increases from Italian, German and Japanese tourists, indicating the popularity of the city across the world.
