Love is in the air for the giant pandas at Edinburgh ahead of the big bears’ breeding season, and they are bringing in more crowds than ever to the Scottish capital’s famous zoo.Panda at Edinburgh Zoo

A huge rise in visitor numbers was reported over the weekend, with more than 8,000 flocking to watch the pandas, compared with 6575 last year – a rise of 20 per cent.

Keepers are on standby at the zoo for a 36-hour period when the animals could mate, whilst the rest of the world eagerly watches on through the zoo’s state-of-the-art panda cam – which broadcasts the cuddly critters in their enclosure 24 hours a day.

Come and see the pandas for yourself whilst enjoying a break in one of the excellent hotels in Edinburgh over the coming months, an ideal location to base your experience in one of most vibrant cities in the world around.
